The travel situation involving Mexico and here in Puerto Vallarta is beginning to improve. The Mexico Tourism Board has announced that the travel warning of the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ministry of Canada has been removed from the Mexican travel report.

Puerto Vallarta ranks High in Travel Agent Survey

A recent survey by the travel organization, Travel Leaders, places Puerto Vallarta in fourth place as a preferred international travel destination for 2009. This is a significant improvement over last year’s sixth place… as this year Puerto Vallarta beat out Rome, Italy and Mediterranean Cruising.

Foreign Tourists To Be Reimbursed for Sales Tax Expenditures

Sales tax rebates will be paid to foreign visitors beginning in June to enhance the experience of traveling to Mexico and make the country a destination of choice for international tourists.
Once the Tax Administration Service (TAS) grants concessions to three companies to operate the program, Mexico plans to put the program into effect.
As part of their main objective of increasing the flow of international tourists to the country, the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB), is spreading the word to their targeted markets where they concentrate heavily on tourism promotion with the hopes of encouraging foreign travelers to visit Mexico this summer.
